# DEFAULT\_CARD\_SLUG

**Type**: `string` (static setting in `settings.py`) **Default**: `"other"` **Description**: Slug used to identify the fallback card configuration when no BIN number match is found.

* When a card BIN number is submitted but no matching `BinNumber` record exists in the database, the system falls back to the `Card`, `Bank`, and `CardType` records all identified by this slug
* The slug must match active `Card`, `Bank`, and `CardType` records in the database

**Used in**: `BinNumberInputSerializer` (and `BexBinNumberInputSerializer`) as fallback card when BIN lookup fails
