Plugins

The search results can be extended with additional data through registered plugins. Currently, the products.listable_product_variants plugin is available, which extends the extra_data.variants field with variant product information when configured and active.

Plugin Behavior:

• Plugins modify the structure of product data returned in search results

• When the products.listable_product_variants plugin is active, variant information is populated in the extra_data.variants field

• Plugin configuration determines which variant attributes are included and which product fields are returned for each variant

• Products must be reindexed after plugin configuration changes to reflect the new structure
